PlaySphere wanted a browser-first, cross-device social layer for casual games. Players should start on a phone, continue on web, and project to a TV. No app stores. No real-money systems. We were asked to ship a low-latency, link-based party flow with frictionless onboarding and family-friendly features. The goal: grow sessions, boost replays, and keep infra costs predictable.

Scoping Out the Project

The goal was to deliver a seamless, browser-first social gaming experience across devices. The client aimed to:

  • Enable one-tap party links for friends on different devices.
  • Support QR handoff for instant play from phone → Smart TV.
  • Offer both guest mode and popular social login options.
  • Run 10–12 HTML5 titles with shared leaderboards and stats.
  • Maintain TTFB under 200 ms for core markets globally.
