What's the role?

As an AVP Business Development you will be responsible for end-to-end business growth, including new client acquisition, international sales, strategic partnerships and revenue closure. This role is designed for a highly experienced professional who can independently generate, convert and close business without dependency on inbound leads.

You will play a strategic role in expanding our presence across Europe, the USA and the Middle East, while working closely with internal delivery, technical, and finance teams to ensure smooth pre-sales, sales and post- sales execution.

This role offers flexibility in location (Kolkata / Delhi / Remote) and requires a strong ownership mindset.

What will be your responsibilities?

  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, target accounts and growth markets.
  • Drive new client acquisition through outbound sales, cold calling, virtual meetings and networking.
  • Generate new enquiries and convert all qualified leads into paying customers.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Work closely with internal teams across technology, delivery, marketing and finance to implement growth strategies.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, account plans and go-to-market approaches.
  • Prepare sales pitches, presentations, proposals, reference documents and business plans.
  • Create and manage SRS (Software Requirement Specification) documents, proposals, SLA and NDA documentation.
  • Demonstrate strong technical understanding of IT products, solutions and services to support consultative selling.
  • Handle international business closures using best practices aligned with global markets.
  • Identify and onboard strategic partners and alliances.
  • Manage multiple opportunities and projects concurrently while meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate client and pipeline data in CRM systems.
  • Coordinate with the finance team for invoicing, commercial discussions and follow-ups.
  • Explore new business models, trends and operational improvements.
  • Participate in or drive social media promotional activities where required.
  • Leverage bidding portals such as Upwork, Freelancer, etc., to generate and close opportunities.
  • Train and guide team members when required to meet business objectives.
  • Own the complete sales lifecycle including lead generation, pre-sales, account management, post-sales support.

What's required from you?

  • Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. MBA or equivalent qualification in Sales/Marketing is an added advantage.

Experience & Professional Skills

  • 12+ years of experience in Business Development / Sales within IT services or software services organizations.
  • Strong experience in new client acquisition and independent business generation.
  • Proven success in international markets (Europe, USA, Middle East).
  • Excellent understanding of IT products, solutions and services, including:
    • Mobility solutions
    • Digital transformation
    • AR/VR
    • Gaming and emerging technologies
  • Strong exposure to B2B enterprise sales and services-based selling.
  • Experience working in sales-driven organizations (Enterprise, BFSI, Insurance, or similar).
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior management and decision-makers.
  • Strong networking, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High sales orientation with consistent target achievement.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to see the bigger picture and drive long-term growth.
